In my retirement from a place called a government school in 1990 as a traditional American History and English teacher-8th grade, I only miss one thing: the left surroundings and literature in my teacher mail box that kept me aware of the left-ways by the teacher union and its willing
Dem/left members. In a school of nearly 70 teachers perhaps 2 were ed worthy and were the type you had as dedicated Americans in your own schooling if you were lucky. Now, to find out what out tax-money is doing
wrong, I have to find out from the liberal press or parents of today who voice legitimate concerns.
So, today a Kenosha parent called a local radio show and said that her daughter at a middle school(grades 6-8) dumbed down from the Jr. High school (7-9) to adjust the data funding with less learned students-and
said the student had to see/hear some 2 hours of the Al Gore movie on global warming with the others. Then, when they were finished they had group discussion on this "problem", then as homework were to write a letter of concern to their U.S. senator. If they had a differing view , they were required to write their thoughts to the TEACHER (?) instead. Why? The young student said all the pupils in the government school
obeyed as they didn't know there was another side. (these are 11-13 year olds).
The mother was rightfully upset when she heard of this manipulation, casually, from her own daughter who was typing a letter of concern about global warming to one of our two Dem/awful US Senators (Kohl, Feingold).
She wrote a letter to the principal and Superintendent, re-taught her daughter-and is waiting.
Now , the point of this single episode is that things like this- propaganda, misinformation goes on daily. I know.
The social/ist studies teachers (numbers unknown) continue to use the classrooms as propaganda places as do much of the political science (?) classes in places still called universities rather than factories for idea management(firm).
Planned Parenthood in many areas still uses the secular schools to preach their permissive sex syndrome while pro-life pregnancy centers are ignored.
A letter in the nearby Racine Journal Times even today by a signed/reader said that he observed an outdoor "Immigration Memorial
Service at the public high school at 10:15 on Feb. 22 (Washington's birthday) all while the left urban paper was complaining about the continuing low test scores brought about by the national ed plan, NCLB.
Solution: Parents need to form a lottery pool to take turns without the ed establishment "guiding" their findings and monitor all tax-supported schools with regular open meetings with their local school board to air their concerns/findings-as parent whistle-blowers. (or some meaningful
strategy in a unified way).
On another point many states like Wisconsin are now having the STATE re-distribute the local property taxes for local schools to bring funding equity to communities poor and rich in property. In Wisconsin 2/3 of schools are funded by this redistribution of the local tax-made money. Now, the Dems want to make the state the collector of all school
taxes and redistribute completely. Neat, except every vestige of local control is lost, and the states are already willing tools of the national government in funding and curriculum/testing management.
Of course, few, if any know that Article X of the US Bill of Rights and Article I, Sec. 8 of the US Constitution forbid national control by funding, curriculum and testing.
Ignorance is not bliss, it is Velcro slavery.
And, the Kenosha public schools have been discussing the need to finally enforce the simple dress codes they already have or restrict even more in the hopes that his band-aid will cause more wrong-learning for testing and discipline will be restored. Sadly, they just don't enforce simple
rules as "NO" is virtually educationally incorrect a bureaucratic "hate word" As the Bible states so clearly-"every learning and never coming to the understanding of the truth." Information right or wrong is useless without moral/character attributes
by all.
